Dr. James L. Filberth, BS, DC

Dr. James Filberth first earned his pre-med Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Biology and Nutrition. Before entering chiropractic medical school, he served his country in the medical field of the United States Coast Guard. After an honorable discharge he was accepted at the world renowned National University of Health Sciences in Chicago, Illinois where he received his Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine. He then completed his one year internship followed by three more years of family practice training at the National Patient and Research Center and became a Board Eligible Chiropractic Internist.

He has maintained a successful natural alternative family practice for well over thirty years. Every year Dr. Filberth completes as many as 120 hours of continuing medical education for doctors in the field of chiropractic sports medicine, lifestyle medicine, clinical nutrition and anti-aging medicine. He is currently certified in physical impairment rating by the American Medical Association, as well as Acupuncture, Nutrition, and Family Practice. Dr. Filberth maintains his memberships on the Council on Diagnosis and Family Practice, Council on Nutrition and the Counsel on Sports Injury and Fitness of the ACA as well as the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.

His practice is much like that of a medical internist or family practitioner in terms of diagnosis, but often significantly different in terms of treatment. Rather than prescribing drugs and invasive procedures, Dr. Filberth always attempts first to treat his patients naturally with nutrition and alternative medical procedures. When in the best interests of the patient, he will refer the patients to the appropriate medical specialist for drug or surgical treatment. His practice philosophy has always been based on two distinct principles. First Is the Hippocratic Oath which says: "First of all do NO harm...” Secondly is to treat every patient as if they were the most important one of the day.
